Long tail keyword search on the increase

The latest research from Experian Hitwise has shown that the trend towards people searching the web with longer keyword phrases has continued.

The details published by Hitwise including the graph shown here demonstrate that people's search behaviours are changing and becoming more specific. Whilst single and two word searches still dominate the overall queries made, targeting the long tail of search marketing keywords can provide positive returns with the benefits of fewer competitors and higher conversions.
